1) Put together your donation
Explore Give Local between November 3 - 21 and find the nonprofit(s) you'd like to support on spsgives.org.

2) Submit your grant recommendation to your donor advised fund administrator or financial institution right away!
Make sure that funds are granted directly to 'Community Foundation of South Puget Sound.' After the funding is received, we'll apply your donation to the nonprofits you've designated. Only one check needs to be sent from your institution.

Use this information when completing the donation form with your financial institution:

• Organization name: Community Foundation of South Puget Sound

• Designation: Give Local 2025

• Tax ID: 94-3121390 

• Mailing address: 212 Union Ave SE, Suite 102, Olympia, WA 98501

3) Email Mary Lam-Witcher, Philanthropy & Communications Officer, at mary@thecommunityfoundation.com to inform her of the incoming distribution. 

We must receive your incoming gift information by 5:00 pm on Friday, November 21, 2025, to include your gift in the Give Local totals. 

In the email to Mary, please include the following: 

• Total distribution amount 

• Nonprofit name (and gift amount per organization if multiple) 

• Institution name that will send the funds (Fidelity, Schwab, TIAA, etc.) 

• Recognition preference (i.e., would you like your gift to be anonymous or may we share your name(s) publicly and with the receiving organization?)

3) Email Mary Lam-Witcher, Philanthropy & Communications Officer, at mary@thecommunityfoundation.com to inform her of the incoming distribution.

Stock Gift Instructions

Your broker can assist you in making a gift of stock from publicly traded stocks and mutual funds through a direct transfer to the Community Foundation of South Puget Sound. The gift can be made to support any participating Give Local nonprofit. 

We recommend starting early when initiating stock gifts, as these can take a while to process and track.

Email Mary Lam-Witcher, Philanthropy & Communications Officer, at mary@thecommunityfoundation.com to start the conversation. 

Mary can provide you and your broker with the necessary information to complete this gift securely and gather the required details (number of shares, ticker symbol, stock name, donor name(s), and contact information) to track the incoming gift on the Foundation's end.

Once the gift is received, the Foundation's team will inform you of the stock's valuation at the time of the sale and inquire about how you would like to apply this gift during Give Local. You may direct the proceeds of the sale to a participating nonprofit or more! We will also need to inquire about your recognition preferences (i.e., would you like to make this gift anonymously or have your name(s) listed publicly on spsgives.org?)
