Heartstrides Therapeutic Horsemanship

Founded in 2011, HeartStrides originated from one family’s healing experience with a horse and has grown into a community-recognized organization with a committed board of directors and specially trained staff including certified peer specialists, mental health counselors, recovery coaches, and PATH International certified instructors and Equine Specialists in Mental Health and Learning. We provide clinics and 6-week programs for active-duty military and veterans, at-risk youth, therapeutic court participants, children and adults with mental and physical disabilities, people in recovery, and families.

At HeartStrides we have a vision that all people who are struggling with the effects of trauma, mental health and/or substance use challenges will be provided the opportunity to work with horses through a transformative and therapeutic experience.
