Health and Hope Medical Outreach

Sebastiana suffered with debilitating pain for years. She sought medical care at various hospitals, doctor’s offices, and clinics. Each time she was given no answers for her condition. Over the years she had come to feel like just a number, as if her health didn’t really matter to the doctors she saw.

When she came to Health & Hope’s free clinic, she felt hopeless and defeated. What she found at Health & Hope was something different – a team of providers, nurses, and volunteers who truly cared about her. She immediately felt welcome.

“I was enchanted by their politeness and respect,” she said of our volunteers.

Sebastiana received a thorough medical exam and was referred to specialized medical tests, all at no cost to her. Our clinic providers were able to finally get to the bottom of her health concerns and set up a treatment plan. With continued care, medication, and support, Sebastiana has felt a dramatic improvement in her health.

Her story, and countless like it, show that there is something truly unique and special about Health & Hope. It’s not just a place to see a doctor and get medical tests done. Driven by a deep faith in Christ and a passion to serve as He served, our team embraces each patient not as a number, but as a whole person, worthy of compassion and respect.

One of the foundations of our clinic mission is Matthew 25:36: “…I was sick and you cared for me….” This guiding principle, to love and care for others as Christ loved us, sets Health & Hope apart from any other medical facility.

As part of the care they receive at our clinic, each patient meets with a resource volunteer who offers an opportunity to pray over them if they choose. Patients can also get information on helpful community programs and resources or be connected to a local church. We know having a support system is an important part of healing.  

Sebastiana is especially appreciative of the prayers she receives.

“The prayer at the end is like the cherry on the cake,” she said. After seeing the doctor, the resource volunteers shower her with love and hugs. They ask her about her life and family.

“It doesn’t feel like going to a medical clinic,” she said. “It feels like going to see friends.”

The clinic operates entirely on donations from our generous community that allow patients to receive needed care completely free of charge. Most of the patients who come through the doors do not have access to healthcare anywhere else. Many have spent years suffering through medical issues unable to afford the treatment and medicines they need.

When Sebastiana came to us she was grateful to finally be able to get help without the added stress of expensive medical bills. She was also surprised to discover that despite our care being free, she was never made to feel like she was “less than” or treated poorly because of her need.
