Pear Blossom Place emergency family shelter opened in July of 2014, and has since provided almost 200,000 nights of warmth and safety for more than a thousand families! When families arrive onsite they enter a comfortable and welcoming environment with compassionate staff, warm bedding, food and hygiene supplies, and other resources. They are assigned a case manager who works with them until they are able to find a permanent housing solution, whether that is 10 days or 10 months! Support staff are available 24/7 so that regardless of the time of day, if a family has a question, concern, is in crisis, or a has victory to celebrate, staff are always present and available.

On any given night in Thurston County there are over 250 families with children and/or survivors of domestic violence who are sleeping in a ‘place not meant for human habitation’ – this could be a tent, a car, or even a shed. When they have nowhere else to go, they turn to Family Support Center of South Sound and to Pear Blossom Place. Please consider making a donation to support this critical resource today!
